Here at Barry M, we don’t just love cosmetics. We love animals and the planet, too!
That’s why, since founding in 1982, Barry M has never tested its finished products or ingredients on animals or engaged another company to do so on our behalf. In fact, all companies in our supply chain must provide us with annual written assurance that no product or ingredient used in Barry M products has been newly animal tested by them after our fixed cut-off date. Our strict policy means that within our company and our supply chain, we do not tolerate cosmetics’ animal testing.
We also do not permit our products to be sold in countries where animal testing is required. In addition, we’ve pledged to only use new ingredients that become available in the future, if their safety can be assessed entirely without animal testing.
With these ethical values at the heart of Barry M, we’re proud to be listed as cruelty-free in the Naturewatch Compassionate Shopping Guide. We’re also privileged to be working with some amazing animal protection charities.
Beauty with compassion has been at the heart of our company since 1982 (we’ve always been a cruelty-free brand) and we proudly support two wonderful animal and wildlife charities:
HUMANE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL – Be Cruelty-Free
Humane Society International's global Be Cruelty-Free campaign is the largest campaign in history seeking to achieve a worldwide end to animal testing for cosmetics.
Be Cruelty-Free is helping to achieve real change. Cosmetics animal testing is now banned across the 28 countries of the EU, including the UK, and throughout India and Israel. But elsewhere around the world, the suffering continues so HSI's Be Cruelty-Free team is now campaigning to end cosmetics animal testing around the world, notably in China.
Be Cruelty-Free works by raising consumer awareness about cosmetics animal testing and ethical shopping, and by engaging with policy makers, regulators and companies to change laws and practice to replace animal testing. Together, we can end cosmetics’ cruelty. Once, and for all.
HELP US HELP THE ANIMALS!
Please show your support too, by signing a Be Cruelty-Free pledge, which HSI use to demonstrate the strength of public support.Sign the pledge
David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation
David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) is a highly effective wildlife conservation charity funding key conservation projects across Africa and Asia. Its mission is to increase the awareness of people around the world about the need to protect and conserve wildlife and its habitats.
DSWF’s ground-based conservation partners are dedicated and professional organisations with a deep understanding of the landscapes in which they operate; our relationships are steeped in mutual respect and admiration, nurtured over many years. More than ever before, we face daily news of the devastation that humans inflict on wildlife and on our planet; news of vanishing species and wild spaces. David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation invests in economically and socially vulnerable communities with programmes that have a real impact – on real people, in real places.
DSWF takes a holistic approach to conservation, recognising the essential role that communities and education both play in ensuring conservation successes. We also recognise the need to tackle environmental and wildlife crime from grassroots to the world stage across all forums and platforms available for change.
By engaging in the international policy arena and fighting for greater protectionist policies and legislation, governments become important stakeholders in the fight for species protection. Equally important as those they work alongside – those putting their lives on the line daily for the survival of species and the protection of their natural habitats.
The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation VISION:
The Art of Survival: To Fight, Protect and Engage on behalf of endangered wildlife around the world.
The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation MISSION:
To raise vital funds supporting front line conservation projects which help secure a future for wildlife in their natural habitat.
- To fight environmental and wildlife crime through ranger programmes and law enforcement.
- To engage with communities to educate and raise awareness to reduce threats to wildlife.
- To campaign for stronger wildlife laws and to reduce consumer demand for wildlife products.
Through dedication and hard work, DSWF has influenced policy, shifted attitudes and provided an unwavering voice for wildlife conservation from grassroots to the world stage for 35 years. The charity works hard to maximise the impact of every donation it receives and – to date – have invested over £9.5m in wildlife conservation projects.
Barry M Wildlife® is delighted to support DSWF in all its work.
