OUR STORY
NO FILTER Beauty was created by Vicky Pattison and leading make up artist, Lo Dias, after many years working together, becoming friends and loving makeup:
We all know how a bit of makeup can make you feel like a million dollars!
But, in a world full of Instagram perfection, great angles, filters and fakery, we wanted to create products that made people to feel beautiful and empowered, in REAL life. NO FILTER.
Vicky: “We love making people feel amazing in their own skin. Nothing feels better than putting a smile on someone’s face or helping them build confidence.
As a leading make up artist, Lo does that brilliantly with her creative flair and, if you’ve ever been lucky enough to sit in her makeup chair, you’ll know first-hand how amazing she can make you feel! In turn, I try really hard to use my platform positively and break down those ridiculous beauty standards that no one can ever measure up to!
Together, Lo and I (with the experts at Barry M) make the perfect team to create an amazing new beauty brand – a brand that’s inclusive, classic and makes people feel powerful and beautiful.”
For us the name ‘NO FILTER’ didn’t simply come from hashtags about posting filter-less photos. Through her TV show, Vicky was already associated with the phrase – encouraging people to be unapologetically themselves is something she’s passionate about. With our NO FILTER brand, we want you guys to love what you see in the mirror, to be proud of your gorgeous, glam selves and put a little bit more confidence and self love out into the world. With a little help from us, and your makeup bag!
Makeup is fun, it’s about creativity, and making people feel like the best version of themselves. It can give the confidence people need to ask for that promotion, sassy enough to ask for that phone number and strong enough to know their worth.
There’s something a little magic about how a bright lip can brighten your day and lift your mood, and don’t underestimate the power of a great eye shadow palette either!
HOW WE MET
Vicky and Lo met in Newcastle in 2014 when Vicky needed a last minute makeup artist.
Vicky: “I loved Lo’s work. I didn’t wash her eye makeup look off for about 3 days! I was literally that obsessed with her work and knew I’d never be able to create something that amazing myself! And honestly, the rest is history. Here we are years later, friends, and partners in our wonderful new make up range!”
Lo: “Vicky very kindly made me an essential part of her journey through TV shows, magazine covers and campaign shoots. It’s been a wild journey, growing up and travelling the world together. We’ve gotten each other through 4am alarms and 18 hour days on set and basically become each other’s emotional support bubble, whilst working in a crazy industry."
Like us, our makeup looks have been through quite a journey over the years too. Lo’s style of makeup and skills have changed and evolved, as have the looks Vicky requests."
Lo: "When we first met all Vicky wanted was a matte black and brown smoky eye morning, noon or night but now she usually prefers a softer, warmer glam! What can I say?! Styles change and we all have to act our age eventually!
The journey through all those different styles and looks as we’ve grown really underlines how makeup is all about expressing yourself, part of putting out into the world who you are and who you want to be. Are we a cute nude-y soft glam today… or are we sassy and going for a bold eye or lip? Or both if we’re feeling extra cheeky!”
NO FILTER FOR YOU
We really hope you’ll love our NO FILTER products as much as we do. We’ve worked super hard for over 2 years with the amazing team at Barry M to make this collection exactly what we wanted. We’ve had our fair share of obstacles of course, but we wouldn’t have changed a thing. We’re so proud of what we’ve created for you guys. It’s been so much fun and a huge amount of hard work making these products come to life, and we’re so excited they are here for us to share with you all!
As you can imagine we’ve been using our NO FILTER products (in their sample packaging!) for some time now so, without you knowing, you may have seen many of them already – in our Instagram feeds – before we could talk about them. So you might just be in love with NO FILTER already, without even knowing about it! Sneaky, huh?
We love NO FILTER, what it stands for, what it represents and of course, our amazing products. And right now we can’t wait to see NO FILTER on your lovely faces too ♥️
