The Birthday Palette

The ICONIC Barry M Birthday Edition 40-Pan Eyeshadow Palette landed in June, and we have LOVED seeing you using it and your colourful creations coming to life.
What makes this palette iconic is not only the forty different shades, nor the recyclable AND sustainable packaging, but it’s the shade NAMES themselves.
Each shade is named after an iconic person, moment or memory relating to Barry M’s history… Some of our favourites include:
1982 – It was the year Barry Mero launched Barry M Cosmetics with 100 Nail Paint and 60 Lip Paint Colours. Forty years ago, this June, 1982 had to be included in the Birthday Palette.
Paint - Barry named his products Nail Paint and Lip Paint as he reasoned, you paint your nails and you paint your lips, you don’t ‘polish’ or ‘stick’ them. The name is unique to the Barry M brand and couldn’t be left out.
Brixton – After Barry opened his first shop in Ridley Road, an outlet in Brixton Road Market followed, where he sold his now famous Nail Paints. An iconic place, very deserving of its recognition in the Birthday Palette.
Mero – Ever wondered where the M comes from in Barry M? Mero is the family name behind the Barry M brand, and we wouldn’t have reached 40 years without them.
Gelly – In 2013, we launched our Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paints, offering a super glossy, gel-like manicure. Since then, it’s become our best-selling collection, with over 120 shades! Crackle, who?
Barry – The man, the myth, the legend. In 1982 Barry Mero launched Barry M Cosmetics, and he is our hero.
Maxine – Barry’s devoted wife, was beside him every step of the way and is still involved in the business to this day! Queen.
NW7 – In 1986, Barry M moved north of the river to Bittacy Hill, NW7, where we’ve stayed ever since! It’s our home, and home obviously needed its own eyeshadow shade.
Wildlife – In 2018, we launched our first WILDLIFE Collection, four eyeshadow palettes with 20% of profits going to the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. Two years later, we launched three British Wildlife palettes, with the People's Trust for Endangered Species. Charity is so important to us here at Barry M, and our WILDLIFE collection is very close to our hearts, so it only seemed right to name a shade after it.
International - The UK's favourite makeup brand is now making waves internationally, from Australia to the US. Just call us Mr Worldwide 😉
Which shades are your favourites? We’d love to know!
